With high season upon us we want to ensure your are fully prepared to travel to Venice and are aware of updates and changes to the Venice Tourist and Access laws.
Although there are new rules in place, there is no reason to fret! The cost is minimal and should not deter you from booking this amazing Italian city and any travelers staying within the city of Venice are already subject to the fee and pay said fee direct to their hotel. They will not be required to pay an additional fee online but are required to complete the at Exemption Request Form.

What is the Access Fee
The Access Fee we refer to was introduced by the Municipality of Venice, which must be paid by visitors on specific days in 2024, to be able to access the ancient city of Venice.
Entry to the city of Venice is subject to payment of an access fee, unless the visitor falls into one of the categories that entitle them to exemption from payment. The access fee is not charged from 4.00 p.m. to 8.30 a.m.
Registering and obtaining the appropriate exemption voucher is required to benefit from the exemption.
Exemptions that relate to your travelers
* Travelers are a guest in an accommodation facility located in the Municipality of Venice
* Children under the age of 14 yrs old
* Holders of the European Disability Card and their accompanying caregivers
2024 Dates
• April 25th through 30th
• May 1st through 5th and the weekends of May 11/12, 18/19, 23/26
• June – The weekends of June 8/9, 15/16, 22/23, 29/30
• July – The weekends of July 6/7 and 13/14
Cost
The Venice Access Fee will cost EUR 5 per day, for a single person and there are no reductions.
Day Visitors
If you are simply planning a day visit to Venice, they will be subject to pay the Access Fee prior to entry and directly to the Venice Municipality. You can do so by clicking on the Payment of Fee Button
Areas Affected
The Access Fee must be paid by each person who accesses the Ancient City (marked with no. 1 in the map alongside), without prejudice to the exclusions or exemptions provided.
The Access Fee is NOT due for those passing through Piazzale Roma, Tronchetto or Stazione Marittima, without accessing the Ancient City (area marked with no. 2 in the adjacent map).
On 2024 the Access Fee will NOT be applied to the MINOR ISLANDS of Venice Lagoon (marked with no. 3 in the adjacent map)
